When the Yeshiva of Cherry Hill, NJ realized that their planned crowdfunding campaign would overlap with a fundraiser for the Yeshiva of Rochester—led by the father of one of their own roshei yeshiva, Rabbi Yisrael Davidowitz—the hanhalah didn’t hesitate. Despite having already publicized the dates and run ads, they unanimously agreed to reschedule the campaign at the last minute, recognizing that kibbud av must take precedence. In doing so, they didn’t just teach chinuch—they lived it, modeling what it means to prioritize Torah values over visibility and integrity over image.
