Thousands of feet above the Atlantic, passengers aboard an El Al flight from New York to Israel refused to let the fast of Shivah Asar B’Tammuz pass without a minyan. Mr. Louis Scheiner brought a Sefer Torah onboard and the passengers held a Krias HaTorah of Vayechal at 30,000 feet. Scheiner received shlishi and maftir, while the aliyah of Levi was given to Rav Mordechai Dinner, head of the Daas Shmuel kollel network, who was also traveling on the flight.
