Hundreds of bochurim at Yeshivas Ateres Yisroel in Modi’in Illit undertook an extraordinary taanis dibbur ahead of Shavuos, committing to complete silence from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. while learning continuously in the bais medrash without the usual afternoon break. The initiative, launched by Rav Yoel Shapira during the Shloshes Yemei Hagbalah, was described in the yeshiva as a powerful segulah for older bochurim seeking their zivug, with more than 60 percent of the yeshiva already formally joining the kabalah.
