For the first time, IDF soldiers had the opportunity to participate in the writing of a Sefer Torah within the confines of Gaza. Rabbi Yehuda Alon arranged for the reserve battalion he serves in, Battalion 7008, located deep within the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the ground operation, to take part in this special zechus.
