During this past February’s Mizrachi Canada mission to Israel (left), the group visited the Shura Army Base, where, among other things, all of the army’s sifrei Torah are kept. It was the first stop of the mission. In a room of 400 or so _pasul sifrei Torah_, the group stopped to hear words of _chizzuk_. One member of the group wandered among the high shelves, and the first Torah he took out was one that had been donated by Toronto’s Rosenzweig family, _l’illui nishmas_ David Rosenzweig, _Hy”d_. As it happened, one of David’s sons, Shragee Rosenzweig, was on the trip. It was a very emotional reunion with the Torah, as if his father’s presence had greeted the group. Since then, the family has been working with the Army to repair the Torah, and it is now being sent into battle, as seen at right.
