At a wedding last night, Hagaon Rav Dovid Cohen, one of the generation’s senior poskim, found a seat toward the back of the room, comfortable to be away from the limelight. Rav Shimshon Sherer, zaide of the chosson, pleaded with him to go up front, taking his hand. “People might say we’re not speaking to each other,” he quipped. But the venerable posek preferred the quiet corner at the end of the table.
