As part of the longstanding tradition of the Eidah HaChareidis during the Aseres Yemei Teshuvah, shochtim presented their knives for inspection before receiving authorization to perform shechitah on kapparos. This year again, the delegation of Eidah shochtim, led by senior members of the Vaad HaShechitah, went to Rav Moshe Shternbuch’s home, where they stood in line, each handing over his personal knife to the rov, who carefully ran his finger along the blade in meticulous examination.
