A pidyon haben was held for a descendant of two of the Sephardic world’s leading Torah families—a great-grandson of Rav Yitzchak Yosef, president of the מועצת חכמי התורה, and of Rav Shlomo Moshe Amar, as well as a grandson of Rav Ovadia Yosef, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Ohel Yosef. The pidyon was performed by Rav Dovid Cohen, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Chevron, who served as the kohen.
